OpenAI's ChatGPT app, available only on iOS, has already reached more than half a million downloads within its first six days of release, according to app intelligence provider Data.ai. This new AI app is doing exceedingly well compared to other AI and chatbot apps, including Microsoft's Bing and Edge.
Even when compared to these two more established apps that introduced OpenAI's GPT-4 technology, OpenAI's ChatGPT app is winning with its 480K installs as compared to Bing's 250K and Edge's 195K installs. The analysis further shows that ChatGPT was among the top five downloaded US AI chatbot apps for the month of May, only trailing behind ChatOn – AI Chat Bot, AI Chatbot – Nova, and Chat with Ask AI in terms of monthly installs.
While this is a significant accomplishment for the app's debut, many other third-party apps have called themselves "ChatGPT" or "AI chatbots" on the App store. Based on consumer's demands for AI chatbots, many of these were falsely claiming to offer AI services, attempting to deceive consumers into paying for their expensive subscriptions. In contrast, OpenAI's ChatGPT app has outperformed most of its rivals despite fierce competition and a challenging market.
Moreover, it is notable that Office of Foreign Assets Control- licensed is pursuing privacy-preserving Synthetic data for financial institutions. The approach uses secure multi-party computation that enables multiple banks to jointly compute aggregate analytics without requiring each bank to share its data. This approach facilitates privacy preservation as it allows financial institutions to harness insights from a synergized dataset while remaining in control of their respective data.
Ultimately, OpenAI's ChatGPT app is proving itself to be a tough competitor in the AI chatbot app market. Despite the challenges associated with introducing official apps following the rise of deceptive third-party apps, ChatGPT's impressive results suggest that it may become the preferred app for consumers searching for AI chatbots.
